Church History is usually not taught in local churches throughout the world.  It’s typically communicated in a boring way or tries to cover too much ground.  So most Christians don’t know where we’ve come from…without knowing our past we don’t have the roots of all the great triumphs, failures, heroes and villains.

Product Description

Church History is usually not taught in local churches throughout the world.  It’s typically communicated in a boring way or tries to cover too much ground.  So most Christians don’t know where we’ve come from…without knowing our past we don’t have the roots of all the great triumphs, failures, heroes and villains.

Without the roots of Church History we stand like a tall tree ready to tip over when the storms of life roll in. Church History is simply the story of those who have passionately loved Jesus before us.  Locking arms with our past will equip us to walk more humbly, be more courageous and truly make a difference.

This is the first major small-group study covering all 2,000 years in just 4 short practical sessions.

If a man could only know the present-day, contemporary version of his wife, oblivious to the ways she’s been stretched and molded into who she is now, that man would be at a tremendous loss. With no way to embrace past experience, no way to celebrate development, and certainly no way to avoid former folly, it would be a tragic sentence, indeed. A similar thing can be said for the Bride of Christ, I think.

In this clear, concise display of our Church’s history, Michael and Tim provide an opportunity for believers to begin closing the colossal gap that lies between the Early Church and our own post-modern world. The careful teaching in this accessible, four-part series invites viewers to engage our record of God’s continued influence over his people, through the divine leadership of his Holy Spirit. Laugh, cry, smile, and learn—and be inspired to worship the Lord who never leaves..

I began my Credo House journey with the Church History videos, and it stands to be the most helpful material I’ve used in an effort to further my faith. Recall the excitement you experienced as a child when learning about your family tree? Now, imagine that same wonder flooding into your walk with Christ. I highly recommend this curriculum!

Regarding the ancient church – it seems like you are having to decontextualize the characters you are focusing on in history – how do you account for the theology of that time – the great minds of church history who denominations you don’t ascribe to grew out of of (specifically Eastern Orthodoxy and Catholicism. A nice attempt none-the-less
